Happiness

After shooting the bull race, we went back. The bull racing was exciting, and we had a lot of fun photographing the action. On the bus, the group still could not get enough of it. They were talking about it enthusiastically.

On the way to the hotel, the local guide suddenly noticed a group of students playing games in the rice fields.

It turned out that this was part of the celebration programme arranged by the local school for Indonesian National Day.

The children were covered in mud and playing in the paddy fields. With mud splashing around, the noise, the laughter and cheers of parents, and the sunset, the air was filled with a joyful atmosphere. How could this group of photography enthusiasts miss it?

They all jumped off the bus.

Watching a group of children immersed in such happiness was moving, but it also left the crowd with mixed feelings.

I was rather pessimistic, thinking that the pure innocence of children, their simple and innocent nature, had gradually disappeared with the so-called invasion of civilization. But I did not expect this nature to reappear in the mud.

“Does it cost anything to be happy? The answer is: no.”

The child in the picture was sitting in the mud, smiling and letting me take pictures. His charming smile was contagious.

One of the group members said it well: "Does it cost anything to be happy? The answer is: no."

Happiness is not judged by how much you own, but by how little you need.
