Dilemma of Adam

The fifth image in the Hand/Eye series. It is not difficult to find the apple as a theme in artistic creation. From the surrealist to the beginner, the apple, I believe, has been at the centre of their creativity.

The apple carries deep metaphors of evil, taboo, knowledge, immortality, and temptation.

Apples also appear in literature: the popular fable of Snow White, "After Apple Picking" by the poet Robert Frost (1874-1963), and many others.

Interestingly, apples rarely appear in Chinese literature, and Dream of the Red Chamber does not mention them at all. There is a saying: "Art is life, life is art." In art, many subjects originate from daily life. Perhaps the author had little contact with apples in his everyday life, so he did not mention them in his writings.

This composition is a continuation of "Pushing the Envelope". It still challenges two extremes, seemingly unrelated but subtly linked together.

This time, it is apples and flames.

At the same time, I tried to keep the viewer's interest inside the frame, moving from left to right, then right to left, without letting it leave the picture.
